2015 Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day is coming up! I'm not a Mom yet (unless of course you count Moose) but I would love to get any of these items as a gift!

I've mentioned this lotion several times but it really is just that good. Niven Morgan Jean Baptiste 1717 lotion. It comes in hand soap, candles, home spray and more for whatever you might fancy.

We received several lanterns when we got married and they're still my favorite - we've got two on our kitchen island now. And two on our back porch and one in the hall...This one is Amazon Prime eligible and no need to even wrap! Pair it with a flameless candle and put a big pretty bow on top and you're golden.

Moscow Mules have made a recent comeback lately so why not gift a set of the fun copper mugs? Put the mugs with some ginger beer, a bottle of vodka and some fresh limes and it's a party within a gift!

Tassels are everywhere and I love the trend - especially on this Bauble Bar bracelet. The yellow color is perfect for the transition into hotter months.

I've been obsessed with Kendra Scott for awhile and these Ellen Drop Earrings are so feminine and pretty. If these Ivory Pearl ones don't do it for you, there are tons of other options and styles.

Tervis makes some of the best cups and these wine goblet styles are terrific. Tons of different designs and these hold up really well. These are my go-to gift options and they never seem to disappoint.

This past Christmas, my SIL found this CEIVA Digital Frame - you download an app and you can upload photos instantly from your phone! We had so much fun uploading pictures and it's fun for the recipient because the gallery always changes!

Lastly, I love the Cinda B luggage line. I have the print above - Ravinia Black - in several pieces. I love how casual they are but a little more updated than some other print bags.

Hopefully this inspires your Mother's Day Shopping!

Recent Purchases

On our recent trip to NWA, I took advantage of the guys playing golf to walk around the Pinnacle Hills Promenade and do a little bit of shopping.

Pinnacle Hills in Rogers is similar to the Promenade we have here in West Little Rock - they both remind me of the big outdoor malls everyone goes to in Florida or anywhere near the beach. Still, when the weather is nice it's a treat to be able to enjoy it while shopping!

My first purchase was this hat from Forever 21. When we were at the horse races several weeks ago I noticed SO many girls in these and I vowed to find one. But..I don't wear hats often so I was hesitant. This one was perfect - style was spot on and under $20.

Thanks to this hat and my new found love of dry shampoo, I might be able to start squeaking by with every-other-day hair. We'll see, that feels like a huge step.

Next I picked up my new favorite pair of wedges - GB Step-Back Slingback Banded Wedges. Gianni Bini is one of my favorite shoe brands and with 50% off, these were a no brainer. The wedge is high but they're seriously so comfortable.

And finally, I snagged a basic Piko shirt in white because I just love them. Perfect drapey shirt for when you don't want to look too casual but also you want to be comfortable. So easy to dress up or down.

And lastly, after smudging my pedicure and not having time to go back to fix it, I ordered OPI My Chihuahua Bites so I can touch it up on my own. I love the bright color and at least on me, it has a slightly pink hue to it though the picture doesn't show it. I will definitely wear this again and again moving into summer.

So, nothing out of this world but I am definitely happy with all of my recent purchases! Anything you've picked up lately that you love? (Besiiiiides Lily Pulitzer at Target, though if you were lucky enough to grab some, I'd love to hear your thoughts!)

Recent Purchases

Hope everyone has had a happy Monday! It was a dreary, rainy Monday here but I don't mind the gloomy weather. It always makes me feel cozy.

In keeping with the cozy fall spirit, I've picked up a few items to help transition into cooler weather.

I noticed a red vest on Old Navy's instagram on Saturday and after lunch with EH (at PotBelly's - new here and so good!) I raced over to snag one for myself.

I wanted the thinner option they had but they were out of my size. I do prefer the color of this one and the weight is perfect for our mild winters here. The collar is a smidge too thick but not overwhelming. I'm happy with it!

I also picked up this cardigan and sweater. At least..I think this is the sweater. It looks different in person - more like a piko. Maybe I'm just not finding it online. Mystery.

I had kind of given up on Old Navy for awhile - they had some great pieces but it felt like the quality had gone a little to the wayside. These items feel a lot sturdier. Only time will tell!

While searching for a dress for an upcoming wedding, I also scored this dress from Lulu's on sale! $25 and I think it will be adorable with my collection of booties I have acquired.

Gahh, I can't wait for it to get here. I've never ordered from LuLu's before but the reviews were great and I couldn't pass up a $25 dress that is perfect for work and happy hour. I'll make sure to do a review once it comes in!

Here's to Tuesday!

PS - did anyone happen to watch The Walking Dead premiere last night? HOLY cow. So freaking good. Anyways. Bye!

High Five for Friday

Another Friday is finally here! It felt like it took its sweet time this week. Here's a recap of the week.

1 // Out hot water heater went out last week. The plumber quoted us $950 for a new one which is just a little too close to a thousand bucks so EH went out and replaced it himself. Which is great but it's still not working 100% perfect. He has managed to give us warm showers each morning though. Fingers crossed that gets finished this weekend!

2// My job sort of took an unexpected turn this week (don't worry, I still have it!) but I'm really hoping its a positive change. I'm embracing change here.

3 // On Wednesday we headed to EH's hometown for a Chef's Dinner that the IL's Country Club puts on. Some of the best chefs from Arkansas come, with special guest of honor Sam Choy. He is an amazing chef and I'm so happy we were able to attend.

4 // A fancy Chef's dinner called for a new outfit. I found this skater dress from Ember boutique here in Little Rock. I love that their pieces are super cute but also really reasonable. If you're local, be sure to stop in! For everyone else, you can order from their website!

5 // Today was jury duty orientation. I know people hate having this pop up, but I'm pretty interested and think it's a pretty cool honor to serve. I was surprised by one woman who appeared and was blatantly rolling her eyes and making comments about how she just couldn't be there. Oh well - maybe they dismissed her. I think it's unlikely I'll be called to actually serve on a trial but I have six months to find out!

Have a happy weekend! EH promised me a lunch date at The Fold so look forward for a review coming up!

High Five for Friday

Finally reaching Friday and the weekend is the best feeling in the world. So here's another High Five for Friday!

1 // EH and I have NO official plans for this weekend (minus him playing golf this afternoon) so I plan on taking the time to lounge in my backyard oasis.

2 // I got a pedicure several weeks ago and used vinylux polish for the first time. It's similar to shellac but you don't have to cure them under a UV light (so much quicker!) and it lasts just as long - plus you can remove with nail polish remover which is great! Anyways, mine have finally started to wear off so if I must...I'll be getting a pedicure this weekend too.

3 // This guy seems to have so much more energy when his hair is cut really short - who knew. He's been keeping EH and I busy after work each night playing with his babies. I made the mistake of burying his favorite chew bone underneath them all so this happened:

He had to take ALL of the babies out to get to the bone - but the basket terrifies him for some reason so it's a lot of tipping it over really fast and grabbing a baby out. He finally got it out minutes later.

4 // Since it's not going to be unreasonably hot this weekend (or so I think now), I'd like to open the windows and doors and let some air through the house.

5 // I've been really good the past month or so with a semi-spending freeze. I've got a couple checks saved up so I think I will take a trip to the mall and treat myself to a new outfit. We've got some fun events coming up in the next few weeks so a few updated pieces will serve me well.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Gift Guide for your Wine-O Friend

Did you realize there are only 34 days left until Christmas? This blows my mind. I have a feeling I'm going to break a cardinal rule this weekend and go ahead and decorate for Christmas. Waiting until after Thanksgiving just doesn't give me enough time to enjoy everything!

Apart from my daydreaming of covering our house in tinsel and cheer, I've started coming up with ideas for gifts! I love picking out gifts for friends and family, though I know sometimes it can be a challenge!

If you love wine like I do, or have someone on your Christmas list who adores wine, here are a few (I thought) pretty unique gifts! Some of these I use every day weekly and a few I just discovered today!

1 - Stainless Steel Wine Glasses - I actually bought a pair of these from a local kitchen store and they've been a definite hit! They keep your white wine cooler longer than a traditional glass, and I adore the modern look.

2 - Insulated Wine Tumblers - I first saw these a few months ago and I've been in love ever since. *hinthint* Wine to go, and no worries about spills!

3 - Rabbit Wine Stoppers - I own a ton of these (they're cheap!) and I can't rave about them enough. No more struggling the get the cork out the second time with these stoppers! Great for a stocking stuffer.

4 - Outdoor Wine Glass Holder - I can't attest to how well these work, but I love the idea! Perfect for those summer nights playing baggo in the backyard - but without worrying about your drink spilling over!

5 - Corkcicle Wine Chiller - I keep one of these in the freezers, perfect for those impromptu guests or for when you just need to chill a bottle really quick. Plus it just looks kind of cool, huh?

6 - Wine Marker Metallic Pens - I have a ton of those cute wine charms and guess what? They all sort of look the same so it doesn't do much good, and that's if I remember to even dig them out of the bowl. These markers would be great for a party - guests can write their names or the host can put fun messages on themselves!

7 - Cocktail Napkins - There are a bagillion different options out there but I really liked these wine glass blueprint napkins. This would make a great print to have framed for your kitchen or bar area, no?

8 - Insulated Wine Tote - These are great for BYOB occasions. Plus it comes with it's own teeny front pocket to hold the wine screw!

Hopefully this inspires some Christmas shopping for your favorite wine-o (or for yourself, I won't tell!). Happy shopping!
