4th Anniversary Memphis Trip

It's been a whirlwind of a month! With the beautiful Spring weather comes lots of activities. I'll back track a little here - March 31st was our 4th Anniversary (crazy!) and so we decided to steal away and visit Memphis, TN.

The drive to Memphis should be pretty straight forward but the traffic from all of the trucks makes it a somewhat stressful drive. But before we knew it we were in the Volunteer State ready to celebrate!

Of course the first thing EH wanted to do was check out the giant Bass Pro Shop at the Pyramid.

We have a Bass Pro Shop here in Little Rock, but the Pyramid is really impressive.

The best part are the live animals everywhere. I could spend hours just watching them!

After Bass Pro we headed to our hotel to freshen up and get ready for dinner. We picked Flight and it was perfection from start to finish.

Similar to a brewery where you can order a flight of various beers in smaller sizes, Flight offers everything from their appetizers, salads, main courses, and desserts in flight form. Even the wine!

The food was delicious and it was so fun getting to try several different types of wine. EH finished off the night with a flight of three different scotches. How fun is that!

After dinner we hit up Beale Street.

It was fun walking in and out of the different bars, and we were lucky our hotel right off Beale Street. The only Uber we had to take the entire weekend was to and from the restaurant the first night.

Saturday we woke up and headed to the Gibson Guitar Museum, also conveniently across the stress from our hotel.

These two in the shop were my favorite. I love the birds!

Unfortunately for us they don't allow pictures back in the factory but if you get an opportunity, make sure you visit this museum! We got to see each part of the guitar making process and even got to see some limited edition guitars - one designed for Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl.

From there it was more patio sitting, bar hopping, and just enjoying a weekend away with each other.

Then Sunday came too soon and it was time for a quick brunch at the Majestic Grille

It was so nice to get away, even if only two hours from home! Best way to celebrate our anniversary.

Third Year Anniversary

Yesterday was mine and EH's third year wedding anniversary. I know everyone says it's crazy how quickly time flies by but it's so true. The past three years have been my favorite ever.

So in tribute, here's a walk down memory lane. This is really more for me because I love reminiscing over our wedding photos. What a perfect day!

So much of that day is such a blur but the biggest thing I remember is just smiling. A lot. And also that my bouquet took both hands to hold and was heavy but beautiful.

I remember loads more than that but those are always the first two things that come to mind when looking at pictures.

So EH, Happy 3rd Anniversary and thank you for making me smile constantly. It gets better year after year and you sure do make marriage fun. I can't wait for all the upcoming years and can't think of anyone I'd rather spend them with! I think I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

Anniversary Dinner

EH and I have our third anniversary coming up - Tuesday to be exact! But we decided to start celebrating this weekend.

On Friday, we stopped at our favorite pre-movie spot and then went and saw Home in 3D. Because that's what a couple with no kids in their late twenties celebrating their anniversary do.

It was really stinking cute.

Saturday we lazed around the house, had lunch at Burge's, and I got a mani/pedi. Not a bad Saturday whatsoever!

Saturday night, we cleaned up and headed to So Restaurant. It was the first time we had tried this restaurant and I think it's safe to say we'll definitely go back. Our waiter was so much fun, the atmosphere was romantic but not stuffy, and the food was delicious.

We started off with the Fried Green Tomato Crabcake and cocktails. Bullet Rye and Coke for EH, and Frank Family Chardonnay for me.

I have a shameless obsession with fried green tomatoes and this did not disappoint.

For entrees, EH picked the Coffee Crusted Filet Mignon.

Which was delicious, despite the lackluster plate setting. The cup was filled with fried polenta, topped with a tomato.

I went with what I usually go with if it's offered, and that was duck.

Perfectly seared on the outside, topped with apricots. So good!

We rounded out dinner with chocolate creme brulee. I'm not much of a dessert person but this was really good.

After dinner we headed to the Pantry and had another round of cocktails before calling it a night. My perfect date night - great food and cocktails with my favorite person.

Happy Sunday! Are you watching the Walking Dead season finale? I'm both excited and terrified.
